Everest climbing route is almost ready

DSC_0450KATHMANDU:Icefall doctors said on Monday that they would fix climbing route above the Mt Everest base camp in a day or two. According to leading Icefall doctor Ang Kami Sherpa, a team of four icefall doctors resumed route construction work on Monday afternoon after the region witnessed fair weather.

Earlier, bad weather caused by rain and snow delayed construction of climbing route on Sunday. We have resumed work and it would be completed in a day or two, Sherpa told this daily over phone from the base camp. According to him, ropes and ladders have already been fixed on the treacherous section and they tracked the central route to avoid risk of avalanche for Everest and Lhotse climbers.

Japanese mountaineer Nobukazu Kuriki, who is now at Gorakshep area, said his team would reach the base camp on Tuesday. Kuriki will head to Camp 2 for a rare solo summit attempt next week.
