Overview

One of the world’s most iconic treks, this 2-week package will lead you through the beautiful Everest Region, steadily gaining altitude until you reach Everest Base Camp. Once here, you’ll spend the night camping in the shadow of the planet’s highest and most famous mountain. It’s a bucket list adventure that will stay in your memories forever.

Starting in Kathmandu, you’ll join a small group with professional local guides and porters. After seeing the sights of Kathmandu Valley, the tour takes you to Lukla by air, and from here the trek begins. Along the way, you’ll see some of the country’s most spectacular views, as well as passing through authentic Himalayan villages and experiencing their unique way of life.

P.S. Although a reasonable level of fitness is required, the route to Base Camp does not require superhuman strength, nor any mountaineering or climbing. It is rated as a Grade 4 trek due to the altitude, but the climbs are mostly gradual and the trails are good. You’ll also have acclimatization days along the way, so you can adjust to the change in altitude.

During April-May you can see climbers preparing to scale the peak, whilst the rest of the year the site remains relatively peaceful and barren. You’ll spend some time at the camp, so you can take pictures and soak in the majestic Everest views and history of the world’s most famous campsite. After a quick recharge at Gorakshep, you’ll begin the journey back to civilisation, descending to Pheriche where you’ll spend the night.

Day 12 – Namche Bazaar (3440m, 8 hrs)

Accommodation: Basic Tea House
Meals: None

The descent continues, passing the same incredible landscapes and mountain views that brought you here. Perhaps you’ll even appreciate them more the second time, without the effort of climbing to distract you. Back at Namche Bazaar, you can enjoy a hot shower and a nice cup of coffee.

Day 13 – Lukla (2860m, 8 hrs)

Another long stretch today, but it’ll be almost all downhill to the bustling town of Lukla.
