Master the art of making momo- a beloved dish with the local women community at Patan and enjoy a delicious meal.
The Momo Making Experience, hosted at Patan Community Stay, is an initiative led by six women from the same neighbourhood of Patan who came together to welcome travellers into their world through the art of momo making. Booking a local momo cooking class is the ultimate culinary adventure for food lovers who want to master the art of rolling, filling, and crimping Nepal’s unofficial national dish. The cooking class begins with a warm welcome at Patan Community Stay, followed by a stroll through the surrounding area filled with historic alleys, passing centuries-old temples, vibrant local markets, and artisans at work. Then, you’ll step into a local kitchen and learn how to prepare Nepal’s most loved dish — momo. Guided by women from the community, you’ll learn how to knead dough, prepare fillings, and fold dumplings into perfect shapes while hearing stories that reflect both tradition and resilience.
The experience ends with everyone gathered around the table, enjoying their freshly made momos with a flavorful dipping sauce. This experience goes beyond cooking — it’s about sharing stories, laughter, and traditions over food, offering a deeper connection to Nepali culture.
